It's review time! We haven't got many new devices worth talking about lately, but now I got my hands on a brand new Wintel Mini PC from Pepper Jobs, the GLK-UC2X.

Now you probably have not heard much about the Pepper Jobs brand, but that is about to change. No, they are not a HR agency with a focus on the pepper industry, they are a technology company on the rise.
They were founded in 2017 by Mr. Ken Wong, formerly the Product Director at Minix, during which time he worked on many of the Minix products we talked about here on MiniPCDB, including the NEO-X and NEO-Z series devices.
Pepper Jobs recently launched several interesting products that are both well-designed and useful, and they take pride in their work, offering a 3-year warranty in Europe (instead of the 2 year warranty required by law), which in itself is promising and reassuring for end-users.

Where to buy PepperJobs GLK-UC2X

PepperJobs GLK-UC2X can be purchased from GeekBuying .

We'll be reviewing the GLK-UC2X Mini PC in the near future, along with the impressive backlit airmouse with full qwerty keyboard known as W10 Gyro, which, without spoiling too much, I have to say it's looking like a best buy remote for any Windows 10 device and at a surprisingly convenient price.

Pepper Jobs GLK-UC2X unboxing

The attention to details is what surprises you right from the box - the device comes with a stylish giftbox, one that gives away all the details you'd want to know about the device - it even has a stylized version of the Mini PC on top and the ports on the sides.
The W10 Gyro remote in the below pictures is to be purchased separately, but at 25$, it's well worth it's price.
Inside the package there's the device, an HDMI cable, the DC 12V/3A power adapter with an 3-in-1 power plug (UK/EU/US), along with a surprisingly detailed user manual.

The design features some well-placed ventilation holes, which will help dissipate the head generated by the quad core CPU.

Pepper Jobs made it as easy as possible to upgrade the device , by simply using a screwdriver for two screws on the bottom of the device.
For SSD upgrade, M.2 2260 and 2280 are supported (6Gbps). Pepper Jobs mentions explicitly that NVMe is NOt supported, but one user on their forum mentioned that his Samsung 970 EVO works without issues (as luckily that one supports x2 PCIe mode).
As for RAM upgrade, PC4-19200 DDR4-2400MHz non-ECC, unbuffered 260-PIN SODIMM modules. 8GB is officially supported, but the Pepper forum, which proves to be very valuable, has at least one user that successfully tested a 16GB combo.

Pepper Jobs GLK-UC2X review coming soon

The main attraction for the device - as stated by Pepper Jobs themselves - is it's support for triple 4K @ 60Hz outputs, dual power-in options and the easy DIY upgradability. With it's Windows 10 Pro license the small device should appeal to both home and business users.
In the next few days I will put the little device to a thorough set of benchmarks and real-world tests, follow us on twitter and come back soon for the full GLK-UC2X review.
